Police Department promotions spark lengthy discussion at council meeting

The Franklinton Board of Aldermen and Mayor Greg Route met on Tuesday, November 14 at the Franklinton Municipal Building. The meeting was opened with prayer by Rev. Pepe Tate, Magee's Temple COGIC, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Outstanding students are presented at school board meeting

The Washington Parish School Board held its November meeting on Thursday, November 9. Following the invocation by Vice President Lesley McKinley and Pledge of Allegiance led by Keith Giles, the meeting began with presentations of students by Franklinton Junior High School Principal Misty Polk and Pine High School Principal Ramona Thomas.

Parish Council holds regular meeting
