Parish schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Monday for Martin Luther King Day and Tuesday because of anticipated bad weather.

Parish School Superintendent Jennifer Thomas will monitor the weather on Tuesday and make a decision then about Wednesday.

Sidewalk work now underway in Franklinton

Sidewalk improvement work is now in progress in downtown Franklinton. In a project initiated by the Parish Government, sidewalks along Main Street all the way up to the Fairgrounds will be upgraded. Also, the sidewalk alongside Cleveland Street in downtown (shown above) will also be upgraded.
