Franklinton mayor-elect thanks voters as his 11-vote election margin is confirmed

Darwin Sharp, who was elected Mayor of Franklinton on Tuesday, said he is deeply grateful to the town's voters for their confidence in him.

He defeated incumbent Mayor Greg Route by 11 votes. Sharp received 741 votes and Route received 730 votes.

Replacement trees are being planted at the courthouse

Andre Wilson of A-Team Landscaping is shown in the photo above with some of the small Magnolia trees that are being planted in front and alongside the courthouse in Franklinton. The Magnolia trees are part of an overall landscaping plan for the courthouse that has been developed to replace the large trees that were cut down earlier this year.
