Franklinton Winn-Dixie to Rouses transition will only require a very brief closing

Winn-Dixie's Franklinton store was originally scheduled to close by the end of 2025 as part of the parent company's complete move out of Louisiana.
However, the closing date has now been pushed back, and the transition period will be brief before the new owner, Rouses Markets, opens.

Franklinton 8U All-Star team wins tournaments, advance to state

The Franklinton Youth Baseball 8U All-Star team recently claimed the championship title in a 10-team invitational tournament held at their home fields. Following that win, the team went undefeated to capture the Diamond Youth Baseball District VI Championship in Kentwood.

Franklinton man is the new State Fire Marshal

A Franklinton man has been appointed as Louisiana State Fire Marshal.
Ed Branch was named to the position on Monday of this week by Gov. Jeff Landry.
For the past year Branch has served as Deputy State Fire Marshal and Chief of Staff.
